term faculty appointments
We hire faculty into term appointments for a specified period of time for courses taught in the School of Health and Exercise Sciences. Sessional Lecturers teach and/or perform related duties, for a period of less than 12 months. Lecturers teach and perform related duties which may also include faculty administrative responsibilities. They are hired for a period of one, two or three years.

HES 100 – Foundations of Health and Exercise Sciences
The importance of exercise, fitness, physical activity, healthy eating, and other health behaviours across the lifespan. Principles of basic exercise prescription, fitness appraisal, behaviour change, and other positive health approaches; implications for personal health/quality of life, professional success, health care.
Note: Experience teaching and/or degree with focus in Anatomy & Physiology is a must
HES 320 – Functional Anatomy
Functional aspects of human anatomy with special attention to musculoskeletal, vascular, and neural systems that support integrated human movement. Credit will only be granted for one of HES 320 or HMKN 391. [3-2-0] Prerequisite: HES 120.
Note: Experience teaching and/or degree with focus in Anatomy & Physiology is a must
HES 321 – Lab Techniques in Health and Exercise Sciences
Current methods in exercise science will be demonstrated via modules presented by faculty in their areas of specialization including electrophysiological techniques and methods of assessing blood-flow, respiratory capacity, and muscle function.
Note: Experience teaching and/or degree with focus in Anatomy & Physiology is a must
STUDENTS
Each academic year, we have openings for Graduate Teaching Assistants (GTAs) and possibly Undergraduate Teaching Assistants (UTAs) for courses in FCCS for the September and January terms. Individual faculty also offer Research Assistant positions for both graduate and undergraduate students. RAs are employment opportunities for qualified students offered by faculty members with research grants and contracts.
